Naga City – The Mariners Institute and Training Hotel (MTHI) of Mariners Polytechnic Colleges (MPC) this city, has offered a forty percent discount to guests who will avail of the facilities this summer up to the month of June 2014.

This was learned from Ms. Adelfa Phan, Chair of B.S. Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) Department who said that this discount offering is intended for a high occupancy rate this summer season so that students taking-up hospitality, tourism and culinary arts courses will get personal experience on how a hotel is run particularly during peak seasons.

It can be recalled that on September 6, 2013, Mariners System inaugurated and formally opened this five-storey edifice adjacent to the campus of Mariners Polytechnic Colleges (MPC) along Panganiban Drive.

The facility speaks of the new dimension of education which Mariners offers to aspiring young students, with the state-of-the-art facilities found in the hotel. This is in response to the goal of the school to provide quality education and training to students.

The new building exposes the students to an ambience that provides them a wide and extensive experience in the hospitality industry.  It is noted that the students in Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, and Bachelor of Science in Tourism are the ones most benefited. The  five-storey MTHI houses a modern culinary laboratory, bar, classrooms, offices, a reading room and lounge, prayer room, and six hotel rooms.

With the growing demand for world-class graduates and the growing school population taking up the course, MPC-Naga has thought of investing on this multi-million peso-facility which will serve the laboratory needs of students. ###
