Restaurant executives from U.S.A. brief MPC-Naga HRM students on opportunities abroad

Naga City – Restaurant industry representatives from Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. visited Mariners Polytechnic Colleges (MPC) this city on May 9, 2014 and conducted a forum for students taking-up Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) and Tourism courses, as well as for the faculty members in the department.

Ms. Heidi Lynn Elkins, Manager of WOK’n FIRE Sushi-Stirfry-Bar chain of restaurants in this part of America shared with the students some basic tips for Filipino graduates in the field of hospitality industry on how to excel in their chosen profession and earn dollars for themselves and for their families.

“There is no substitute for hard work and the smart execution at the workplace of what has been learned in school. It pays to be consistent when it comes to observing punctuality and professionalism. It is important to please the customers so that they will come back and continue to patronize the establishment”, said Manager Hiedi Lynn Elkins as she addressed the students.

The WOK’n FIRE Sushi-Stirfry-Bar is noted in the area to serve fresh sushi and Pan Asian Cuisine since the year 2000. The restaurant personnel strive daily to provide their guests with great food, personal service and exceptional value in a friendly and relaxed environment.

They use only the highest quality ingredients from the overnight delivered fish freshly caught in Hawaii to the highest grade Japanese rice grown in California.
