Last October 20, 2023, 128 students from Mariners Polytechnic Colleges, Inc. (MPCI) in Naga City gathered at Albay Astrodome for the National Convention. The event aimed to enhance skills and knowledge in Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Ma. Mae Villanueva, an industry expert, shared insights about the cruise industry and career opportunities. Students learned about airline industry recruitment processes, and Wilma Doesnt gave a motivational talk on self-discovery.

The Skills Olympics featured MPCI Naga City’s successes, with wins in the 3D Travel Poster competition, Fruit Platter competition, Table Skirting and Napkin Folding competition, and more. Anjilah Palmero was crowned Ms. Emperador in the Mr. and Ms. Tourism and Hospitality 2023 competition.

Overall chairman Mr. Joemar B. Asoro BSHM Program chair and Ms. Shannon Leigh Gabad BSTM Program chair, the event was a huge success, showcasing the talents of MPCI Naga City students in the Tourism and Hospitality industry.
